Stephen Record, President, '12 Steve and his wife, Mary Sue, began to vacation on Block Island in 1990. They bought a house on the Island in 2000, and became full time Island residents in 2003 after concluding an assignment in Germany. He has degrees from Yale in art history (B.A. 1969) and statistics (M.A. 1976). Steve also studied forestry at the University of Montana, and has worked as a software programmer for 32 years. His preferred activities include travel, reading, walking, landscaping, and feeding (and watching) songbirds. Much of his time is also spent in the service of three cats.
Bill Comings, Vice President, '14 Bill has been coming to the Island summers since he was an infant.  He and his wife, Margie, built a cottage in the early 1970's so sons Scott and Doug could have the experience of summers on Block Island while growing up.  After Bill retired from a career in apartment development and finance in the Washington DC area, he and Margie became full time Island residents in 2005.  Bill is a graduate of Dartmouth College.  Currently, he serves on the Zoning Board of Review and is a board member of BIRA.
Shannon Cotter Marsella, Secretary, '14 Shannon was born and raised in Nebraska.  She attended the University of Nebraska where she earned her B.A. in elementary education and special education.  She moved to Block Island in 1995 and has been a teacher at the Block Island School for 13 years. Shannon teaches grades 5-7 science and 7th grade reading and writing. She enjoys using Block Island’s unique environment as a classroom and, along with Scott Comings of The Nature Conservancy, conducts weekly beach and field studies with 5th and 6th graders. 
Debbie Howarth, Treasurer, '12 Debbie grew up in Wilton, CT and graduated from Wilton High School and Smith College. She vacationed on Block Island with her family in the 60's. She became a year round resident in 1972, shortly after her marriage to Fred Howarth. Fred and Debbie raised their children, Jason and Jessy, on the Island and both still live here. Debbie is the conservation representative to the BI Housing Board. She and Fred own Finn's and Ernie's Restaurants.

Thomas Doyle, '14 Tom and his wife, Pat, have had a home on Block Island for some twenty years. They have been full time residents since March of 2007. Until June of 2006, he taught Spanish and French at Western Connecticut State. He is also a board member of BIRA.
Sue Gibbons, '14 Sue Theve Gibbons has been summering on Block Island since she was a baby, following in the footsteps of her parents and grandparents. She and her family moved to Block Island full time in 2001, fulfilling a long term wish to live year round on the island. Sue has a BS in Physical Therapy from Boston University, MS in Allied Health and PhD in Human Development and Family Studies from University of Connecticut. Sue taught for a number of years in the Physical Therapy Program at University of Hartford, and is now the High School Science teacher at the Block Island School, teaching courses in Physical Science, Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry and Human Anatomy, and partnering with Scott Comings of the Nature Conservancy to teach Field Biology.  She is married to Peter Gibbons, with two grown sons who graduated from the Block Island School.
Laura Michel Breunig, '12 Laura’s ancestral ties to Block Island go back to 1661when the Island was first settled. She grew up on Block Island and graduated from the Block Island School in 2001. After graduating from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA with her B.A. in Sociology, Laura moved back to the Island. She is the Gallery Manager at Jessie Edwards Studio and runs a photography business, BIfocal Photography, with her husband, John. She is a second generation Director of BIC, as both of her parents have previously served on the board. 
Logan Mott Chase, '13 A life-long islander, Logan's family ties go back to the settling of the island.  Having grown up enjoying the thoughtful preservation of open spaces she is happy to volunteer to further that cause.  Logan is also employed as a Realtor at Sullivan Real Estate and enjoys introducing the many families who visit the island to the wonders of this special place.

Rosemary Tobin, '14 Rosemary Tobin came to Block Island in November of 1997; she was here for a short visit but quickly fell in love with the Island and its people. She grew up outside of Washington DC in Rockville, Maryland, and attended college in Boca Raton, Florida at Florida Atlantic University.  After college, she worked as a lobbyist led her to Chicago, Illinois. After eight years of working in the political arena she decided to simplify her life and leave Chicago to travel.  Her travels ended here on Block Island. Rosemary lives with her husband, son, and two dogs, Stella and Lola. She has successfully worked as a real estate agent for the last 11 years, and works for Lila Delman. In the summer, you can find her behind the bar at Eli's.
